Anomaly President Anomaly Powers & Boss Drops
Steal vice-president abilities and stack permanent tree upgrades across runs.
Anomaly powers are the supernatural layer on top of Anomaly President’s weapons and Fluffy assists. Vice-president bosses each wield a themed ability—HEART from the Minister of Public Relations makes crowds fall in love with her—and defeating them lets you absorb that power for the rest of the run and beyond. Separately, a permanent meta-progression tree hosts at least twenty anomaly nodes that add elemental damage, range shots, parry follow-ups, and other modifiers. This guide explains how boss drops interact with weapons, campaigning, and the Cyber Mage Build versus Swordmaster Build.
Early Access is live on Steam as of August 3, 2026, but the campaign map and story ending remain unfinished. Some anomaly nodes and boss routes are therefore easier to test now than others; treat tier placements in Anomaly Powers Tier List as snapshots, not forever metas.
Two systems: run powers and permanent tree
Run powers come from bosses and elite encounters during a single campaign attempt. They are flashy, build-defining, and often double as campaign tools. HEART influences voter-facing minigames as much as combat charm effects.
Permanent tree nodes persist between runs. Developers highlighted categories like Range Weapon Attack—dual-directional shooting being a visible example—and elemental overlays that change how staff or Octo-Arms apply damage. Investing meta currency here is slow; prioritize nodes that amplify your chosen Weapons Guide pair before exotic branches.
Hybrid builds are intentional. A swordmaster can take range nodes to spawn anomaly projectiles after a parry; a cyber mage can grab parry-enhancing nodes for survival. The cost is delayed specialization.
Boss anomaly powers
HEART — Minister of Public Relations
The PR Minister rides the Abomination boss encounter in pre-release footage and uses HEART to sway both civilians and fighters. Mechanically, expect charm stacks, distorted player inputs if you fail quick-time breaks, and campaign bonuses when you return to Dance or Gift Room events with HEART active. Speed runners may skip extended charm phases; role-play runs can lean into voter multipliers.
Defeating her is a milestone in demo content and remains a gear check in Early Access. Bring crowd control—kusarigama or staff sweeps—and save anomaly burst for the Abomination mount phase when the Minister is exposed.
Security Minister and other vice-presidents
Dev logs showcase the Security Minister as a raw power boss with gruesome finisher animations still in iteration. Expect anomaly drops tied to defense or counterattacks—strong for Swordmaster Build routes once confirmed in patch notes. The Bigman henchman fight emphasizes size and armor; anomaly powers that strip guard meters or extend grab windows from Octo-Arms should shine there.
More vice-president powers will appear as map portals open. Track Updates Hub when new bosses ship; this page will add drop names as they are verified in-game.
Tree nodes by playstyle
Range and elemental (cyber mage)
Range Weapon Attack nodes add projectile layers to staff swings or Octo-Arms grabs. Elemental upgrades apply burn, shock, or anomaly bleed depending on node tier. Stack these when you run Cyber Mage Build and fund upgrades through Marketing Room map unlocks.
Parry and counter (swordmaster)
Parry-related nodes extend finisher windows, refund stamina, or trigger anomaly shockwaves on perfect blocks. They require readable enemy animations—something sword and nunchuck movesets provide. If animation telegraphs feel unclear on a given enemy, devs have acknowledged timing polish ongoing; practice on standard gang mobs before boss attempts.
Utility and campaign hybrids
Some nodes likely buff Fluffy assists, bus room output, or minigame scoring. These are undervalued in pure combat tier lists but stabilize long runs where voter thresholds gate night difficulty. Cross-read Bus Room Planner when taking utility nodes over raw damage.
Synergies with weapons and Fluffies
Anomaly powers amplify weapon categories, not replace them. Staff and Octo-Arms benefit most from range nodes; hammer benefits from stagger and super-armor nodes; claws benefit from on-hit proc nodes paired with assist Fluffies listed in Fluffies Tier List.
Fluffies can add lightning bursts, bullet rains, or devour finishers independent of your tree. Align Fluffy elements with anomaly elements to avoid resistances on later enemies like the Viking and Gentleman archetypes shown in Steam dev updates.
Routing bosses on a run
- Fix weapon pair and bus room plan using Build Checklist.
- Clear opening gang zones to unlock first meta currency and Fluffy slots.
- Challenge PR Minister when crowd control and one burst anomaly are online—HEART is too valuable to skip in most runs.
- Pivot tree spending after the drop: HEART favors campaign-heavy routes; offensive drops favor faster night clears.
- Revisit Anomaly Powers Tier List after patches rebalance node costs.
Early Access honesty
At least twenty anomaly powers are planned; not all are accessible while map regions stay gated. Node costs, elemental stacking rules, and boss drop duplication mechanics may change as Phew Phew Games incorporates Discord feedback. Document your findings on the community wiki after major patches.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is HEART in Anomaly President?
HEART is the anomaly power wielded by the Minister of Public Relations. Defeating her lets you acquire it, influencing both combat charm effects and campaign-facing voter interactions.
How many anomaly powers are in the game?
Developers stated at least twenty anomaly powers on the permanent tree, plus unique boss drops from vice-president encounters. Early Access map gating may hide some nodes initially.
Do anomaly powers persist between runs?
Permanent tree upgrades persist via meta-progression. Boss anomaly drops acquired during a run typically apply to that campaign attempt unless specific nodes say otherwise—verify after each patch.
