Anomaly President Tier Lists & Meta Snapshots

Rankings for Steam Early Access as of launch—expect shifts every patch.

Tier List Hub

Tier lists for Anomaly President must account for a game still growing in public. Steam Early Access began August 3, 2026 with eight weapons (two work-in-progress), dozens of Fluffies, at least twenty anomaly tree nodes, and a campaign map that does not yet expose every region or story ending. Rankings here describe what is strong today, not what will dominate after the next boss drop or bus room addition.

Use this Tier List Hub to jump into category rankings, then cross-read Builds Hub when you want setup tutorials instead of letter grades.

Available tier lists

Weapons Tier List

Ranks Sword, Staff, Kusarigama, Nunchucks, Claws, Hammer, and Octo-Arms for solo clear speed, boss reliability, and dual-wield flexibility. Hammer and Octo-Arms carry explicit work-in-progress warnings because Phew Phew Games still adjusts animations and hitboxes.

Fluffies Tier List

Separates combat assists from campaign department Fluffies. Happiness mechanics mean a technically S-tier assist is useless if kitchen morale collapses—notes call out staffing requirements.

Anomaly Powers Tier List

Covers boss drops like HEART from the PR Minister plus permanent tree nodes such as Range Weapon Attack lines. Map gating hides some powers until Marketing Room unlocks new portals.

Ranking criteria

Each list uses S / A / B / C tiers with short definitions:

TierMeaning in Early Access
SDefining picks for most runs; low skill floor or outsized campaign plus combat value
AStrong with one weakness—gear dependency, morale cost, or poor swarm nights
BSituational; swap in for specific bosses or minigames
CWeak or unfinished until patches land; still fun for challenge runs

We do not use F-tier labels for launch content—work-in-progress weapons instead sit at C with upgrade watch tags.

Early Access caveats (read before arguing online)

  1. Map incomplete — Late-zone enemies may flip elemental matchups once portals open.
  2. Ending incomplete — Final boss anomalies unknown; do not assume current S-tier boss drops stay S-tier.
  3. Weekly balance — Demo hotfixes already adjusted controller and UI issues; combat patches will follow.
  4. Build synergy — A B-tier weapon becomes A-tier inside Swordmaster Build or Cyber Mage Build.
  5. Player skill — Parry-heavy sword placement assumes readable telegraphs; mages skew toward staff plus range nodes.

How to use tier lists productively

Start a run with Build Checklist, pick a fantasy from Builds Hub, then sanity-check choices against the relevant tier page. If your favorite Fluffy sits in B-tier because campaign assignments are awkward, fix bus layout with Bus Room Planner before abandoning it.

After each Steam update listed on Updates Hub, re-open the affected tier page. Weapons and anomaly lists will carry patch stamps in their intro paragraphs.

Contributing feedback

Phew Phew Games actively reads Discord and Steam forum reports. If tier placements disagree with your solo experience, note patch version, weapon pair, bus layout, and boss route—context Early Access reviewers often omit.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How often will tier lists update?

After major Steam patches that touch weapons, Fluffies, anomaly nodes, or bus rooms. Minor hotfixes may only adjust footnotes unless combat numbers change.

Why are Hammer and Octo-Arms ranked lower?

Both shipped as work-in-progress at Early Access launch. Animation polish and hitbox tuning are ongoing, making them inconsistent compared to sword or staff.

Should beginners follow S-tier picks only?

S-tier picks help first clears, but Anomaly President is built for experimentation. Use tiers as guidance, not rules—especially while the map is incomplete.
