Anomaly President Fluffies Guide

Recruitment, morale, assignments, and keeping your staff alive across day and night.

Last updated:

Fluffies are the human face of Anomaly President’s management layer. They run your Campaign Bus rooms, assist with equipment, and join you in combat support roles. They are also fragile in narrative terms: stop caring for them and they leave or die, sometimes at the worst possible election eve. This guide explains how to recruit, assign, and protect Fluffies without sacrificing votes or night power.

What Fluffies actually do

Each Fluffy is a named companion with campaign aptitudes, crafting leanings, and combat assist profiles. Assign them to:

  • Campaign rooms such as Dance, Gift, and Marketing aboard the bus
  • Equipment and prep tasks that affect your vigilante loadout
  • Combat support slots during night missions

They are not interchangeable sprites. A Fluffy strong in Marketing weakens a Dance shift; your best crafter might be mediocre on stage. Early Access rewards rosters that cover roles instead of duplicating one stat line.

If you have not toured the bus yet, pair this page with Campaign Bus so room names and upgrade gates make sense.

Recruitment timing

Recruitment events appear at story beats and between district transitions. Community players rarely pass the first optional recruit—even one extra body prevents Gift room downtime.

Recruitment tips:

  • Recruit before major bus upgrades so new rooms never launch empty.
  • Delay a third recruit if morale systems are already red; fixing two Fluffies is easier than three.
  • After boss victories, check whether new dialogue opens specialist recruits tied to Anomaly Powers.

Walkthrough notes recruit windows in milestone order if you prefer a scripted route.

Morale, care, and why Fluffies leave

Morale drops when you overwork companions, send them into bad nights unprepared, or ignore recovery days. Visual tells—tired animations, bus dialogue, warning icons—precede departures.

Care strategies that work in EA:

  • Schedule recovery days with low-attention Gift shifts instead of Dance marathons.
  • Rotate who takes combat support; the same Fluffy every boss accelerates burnout.
  • Win votes steadily so you are not panic-spiking Dance on exhausted staff—see Win Votes.
  • Complete bus amenities that reduce stress when those upgrades appear in your run.

Death is more abrupt than departure. Sending under-leveled Fluffies into elite gang nights without consumables is a preventable mistake, not bad RNG.

Campaign assignments

During election weeks, think in shifts:

Shift roleTypical roomNotes
MultiplierMarketingKeep staffed before speech surges
StabilizerGiftRuns on recovery days
SpikeDanceShort bursts only
FloaterUnassignedAbsorbs sudden event demands

Never assign every Fluffy to campaign if tomorrow is a gear check night. Equipment prep often needs a dedicated crafter off-stage.

Combat assignments

Night roles vary by weapon and build. Swordmaster parry routes may want a stagger assist; staff-focused cyber mage routes may prioritize elemental setup or guard pets if unlocked.

General combat advice:

  • Match Fluffy assist to your primary weapon—details in Combat Basics.
  • Withdraw campaign stars from combat the day before a Beat the PR Minister attempt if approval allows.
  • Carry consumables that protect companions when gang elites focus support targets.

Fluffies do not replace player skill. They widen timing windows.

Equipment and crafting overlap

Some Fluffies accelerate weapon upgrades, anomaly slot unlocks, or consumable batches. Neglecting crafting Fluffies while chasing approval creates invisible gear debt—you only notice at bosses.

Community approach: designate one primary crafter and one backup who can return to Marketing on election-minus-one. Document who holds which role on paper if your roster grows past four.

Balancing Fluffies with the dual loop

Anomaly President punishes single-axis optimization.

  • Vote-heavy neglect leaves you unable to steal Anomaly Powers.
  • Combat-heavy neglect game-overs on elections with full weapon racks.

Use How to Play as the loop reference. When stuck, ask which phase failed first; that tells you which Fluffy shift to fix.

Early Access roster expectations

You will not recruit every possible Fluffy before content gates stop you. Incomplete map areas mean some companions or events may be unreachable until future updates. Missing content is not a hint that you failed a hidden quest.

Track roster-related changes in Patch Notes and broader scope in EA Roadmap.

Recovery after a departure

If a Fluffy leaves:

  1. Stop Dance spikes immediately; run Gift plus Marketing recovery.
  2. Reassign floaters to cover the empty room at reduced efficiency.
  3. Avoid boss nights until approval and morale stabilize.
  4. Recruit replacements at the next window instead of overworking survivors.

Runs remain winnable after one departure. Two simultaneous losses during election week often are not.

Advanced staffing pattern

Experienced players cycle campaign seasons and combat seasons within the same run. Three days of vote focus, one gear night, one optional farm night, then repeat. Fluffies move with the season instead of holding static jobs.

This pattern appears in speedrun-adjacent community routes linked conceptually from Walkthrough. Adapt pacing to your district modifiers rather than copying day counts blindly.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Can Fluffies die permanently in Anomaly President?

Yes in run terms. Poor combat assignments and neglect can remove companions for the rest of the attempt. Morale warnings exist precisely to prevent surprise losses.

How many Fluffies do I need for Early Access?

Two is the functional minimum; three or four makes election weeks far smoother. Exact recruit caps rise with story progress in the current EA build.

Should my best Fluffy always handle Marketing?

Often yes before election surges, but rotate them off high-stress Dance days and protect them before boss nights if they double as your crafter.

Do Fluffies affect vigilante damage directly?

They primarily provide support utilities and prep quality rather than replacing your weapon DPS. Build synergy matters more than raw companion tier labels.

Why did my Fluffy leave after a winning streak?

Morale tracks workload and recovery, not just wins. Check whether you chained too many high-attention days without Gift recovery or combat breaks.
